Event Description: All the participants met at the college in the morning, which was the best time for this activity because there was not too much noise in the surroundings. The sounds of birds could be heard very easily, and it was also a good time for birdwatching. Mohit, a member of Project Mowgli, an avid bird watcher, helped in recognizing the birds during the event. He suggested an app available on the Play Store for everyone, called Merlin Bird ID. First, the app was installed by all participants, and with its help, birds could be identified. This app recorded the sounds of birds and then provided a list of possible species along with their pictures, allowing confirmation of the birds seen in real life. Books were also used to recognize some bird species.
With the help of the app and books, a total of 22 bird species were identified in different areas of the college, such as LP and the botanical garden. After counting all the species in our college then we went to the Buddha Garden and found some of the new species of birds by recognizing the voice of the birds although here we can not find too much species of the birds there are only 5-6 new species of birds.
The event was enjoyed by all, as it provided an opportunity to engage in a new activity. Extra experience and valuable knowledge about birds, their species, habitats, and other aspects were gained. A total of 25 species of birds were identified during the event, which was considered a good number.
