Haritima, the environmental society of Hansraj College, is a non-profitable club which aims to bring together young minds and tap their potential into doing something productive for the environment. It is duly recognized as one of the few registered societies of the College. Since the past 15 years, it has been endeavouring to bring into limelight the issue of environment conservation, which is often neglected by everyone. Sensitizing people towards environmental threats remains a primary objective for the members of this society.
Committed to enlightening the masses, Haritima has set its mark by organizing a range of successful events since its inception. To name a few-panel discussions on various environmental issues, power point presentation on ozone and water depletion, the annual Flagship event – ‘Cyclothon’, the Annual fest of Haritima – ‘Prakriti Kumbh’and frequent cleanliness and plantation drives.We believe that it is our collective and individual responsibility to preserve and tend to the world in which we all live, and hence we value and appreciate the little efforts done by all our volunteers.
Even the current gruelling situation due to the ongoing pandemic could not pacify our enthusiasm. We have tried to do our best using online platforms. People from all over the country were able to participate in plantation drives, webinars, eco talks, etc. when things shifted online. The noble cause we’re working for instils a new hope and energy in us everyday and keeps us going.
